Armor/Weapon question
Hey people! Quick question;
How good is the Victos Sword/axe/mauk and 15k armor today? I havent played for like 2 years and checked some new screenshots, i see a lot of unknown armor and weapons that i have never seen before, pre faction. Bought a box with all expansions and not sure if i am to upgrade my old account or make a new one. Any comments? |

The victos weapons arent so good. but 15k armor is still pop.. they have it in factions and nightfall and eotn, so yea 15k is still around.. the victos weapons would be around 2-4k, and yea you can upgrade your account just put the cd keys in your old account

Well.. Green weapons are nowadays used mostly as Hero weapons.. 15k armor is same as it used to be..
Go for new acc and use old one as mule acc.. |

Some armor, like the sets from eye of the north, only cost 10k to craft, but you do need to achieve a certain title rank to be able to even talk to the crafter to buy them. There has also been quite a few new items released across the game since before factions came out. Only a select few are worth a large amount of cash anymore, though.

I disagree.
Victo's Blade has optimal modding. Axe is decent, vamp would be better than sundering but it's a good weapon. Maul is decent also, but furious isn't the most useful thing to have in PvE. Shield is good (some prefer to have +10AL vs. <damage type> though).

Thanks for the comments people! Appreciate it and i remember back when the Victos items where worth A LOT more than 2-4k. A lot seems to have happened =/ Pity.
Anyways, thanks people for the comments regarding armor in the expansions, how you get it and what its worth =D Edit: I never cared for this before when i played, but i see it more and more often on the forums. Titles, how do i get one? Or...if i have one, how do i see it? Did a lot in the past and i dont know if you 'achieve' titles somehow by doing dungeons and such. Sorry for these questions lol >_< But i feel like a complete beginner when it comes to guild wars, so much seems to have changed. Last edited by fabin; Aug 04, 2009 at 08:36 AM // 08:36.. |

During the time you were away the Xunlai Tournament House was added. It gave you the option of predicting outcomes of top end gvg and 1vs1 battles for which you can win points which can be used to unlock pvp stuff or buy zaishen keys which can be sold for roughly 4k ea or used to open the zaishen chest which yield a lot of common stuff with a small chance of getting real valuable items like everlasting tonics. You could basically get free stuff that way, and it is based per account, so you get stuff per account each month. It is down atm, but may or may not get going again. That would be a reason for you to create a new account , and also the option of having more char slots you can use to play with or to store excess items.
On the other hand, if you make new account you will have to start from scratch with no skills, items etc unlocked. If you add the new key to same account you can take your old chars with armor, skills etc and move out to the new areas with them. |

The Shield, Axe and Maul are not the best, but they will get you by. The sword however has one of the best possible moddings (Zealous can be good with certain builds) and its skin is also pretty nice. If you want some cool looking weapons you can pick them up pretty cheaply now, only a few skins retain a value above 20k. Mods are also cheap, you can get a weapon any way you want for well under 10k. |

Thanks people again! One more thing now, on my old account (crap internet access, hence i cannot play until mid/late august) i have four lvl 20s.
The two spoiled/good geared for their time is a warrior/necro. The other two (monk, ranged) are semi geared with 1.5k armor and the ranger had just started to farm money and some difficult dungeons. Anyways, how many more slots do i get if i had EoTN, Factions and Nightfall to my old account? Is it two more character slots per expansion? Wish to test out all the new classes and so. Maybe continue my old chars since i especially found my warrior fun in the past! (pvp, Warrior/elementalist with victos maul, no idea if its any good today). Edit: One more thing >_< Are there different 15k armors now? Or is it the only one north/east:ish of droknar's forge the only one? If there are different armors on other locations, where are they? :O Last edited by fabin; Aug 04, 2009 at 03:25 PM // 15:25.. |

there are several different places to get elite armor in each campaign. the wiki should be able to provide more information on what they look like, cost, and where to get them.

You end up with a total of eight character slots with all three games. EotN is not standalone and does not add any extra slots.
The on-line store (enter from the log-in page) has extra character slots available for $9.99

Just thought I would mention that they are not called "15k Armour" often now, as many of the armours availiable in NF and EOTN cost 10k, with Vabbian at 5k (Mats are rather expensive for this though). I see most people calling them "Elite Armour".
